Reclaiming the Seven Mountains

13 Sep

Your destiny is in your heart. Your history is in your head. Pursue your passion! – Lance Wallnau

Truth shall spring out of the earth, And righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the LORD will give what is good; And our land will yield its increase. (Psalm 85:11-12)

What’s the passion in your heart?
Are you willing to lay it down for the Kingdom?
How do you know which field is ideally suited to you?

About two years ago, Michael Stay, one of my coaching group buddies, shared his experience attending the “Doing Business Supernaturally” conference in Pennsylvania led by Lance Wallnau. Michael gave each of us a written handout titled “50 Commands of Christ,” which also explained about the “Seven Mountains.” I saved that and posted it on a door in my apartment in Giles County for more than a year.

What are the seven mountains? They are seven spheres of influence that make up the mind molders that control Nations. He who occupies these mountains controls the harvest. They include 1) Spirituality and Church, 2) Family, 3) Education, 4) Government and Law, 5) Media and Communication, 6) Arts and Entertainment, and 7) Business and Finance.

About a month ago, I received a mailing from Marketplace Leaders inviting me to the Church in the Workplace conference titled “Reclaiming the Seven Mountains” [www.marketplaceleaders.org/pages.asp?pageid=42065] in Atlanta, Georgia on January 26-28, 2008. Lance Wallnau is one of the featured guests.

Then on September 4 during a weekly phone call with Jerry and Sharon Graham, I discovered Jerry worked as an associate pastor for Lance from Spring 1994 – Dec 1995, shortly before Lance left pastoring to pursue marketplace ministry.

Finally, a few days ago I received an email from Marketplace Leaders inviting me to a teleconference with Lance Wallnau and Os Hillman at 7 PM EST on Sep 13. God had my attention, so I sat in on tonight’s teleconference. Wow! Lance and Os shared many inspiring messages. Here are just a few:

Lance asked, “How do I know which field is ideally suited to me?” Go to the field where you get the greatest level of success. Your destiny is in your heart. Your history is in your head. Pursue your passion.

Lance complimented Os on his daily devotionals and his authentic sharing of his “Joseph” experience. He said, the more ready you are for promotion, the more God will allow you to be subjected to the scrutiny of other tests. This Joseph thing is something every great leader has to go through.

Don’t become cynical about church. The devil wants you to become cynical. I love the church, but the church doesn’t always love me. Build a social network among other believers in business in your church. Support your pastor in a relationship first.

Pay attention to what is not working and what is working and why. The military uses the term “force multiplication.” It refers to when they focus at least 3 different types of weapons on a target. Therefore have at least 3 types of intercessors. A husband and wife praying in agreement is the strongest force out there.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank You for Lance Wallnau and his teaching ministry to raise up believers to take control of each of the seven mountains to reclaim nations for Your sake. Bless him and his ministry. Bless my readers with courage to pursue the passion in their lives. No matter what their ages or situations, may they know You have a purpose and plan for their lives. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
