The M&M Connection: The Husband’s Role

29 Aug

The husband’s role is to create an environment conducive to holiness in his home.

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)

As you may know, the husband has been chosen by God to be the head of the home. Unfortunately, we have misunderstood what God meant for far to long.

In Ephesians 5:25-27, God gives each husband a very clear understanding about what he is supposed to do regarding being the head over his wife.

Simply put we are to create an environment conducive to holiness in our home.  We are to give ourselves up for our wives so that they can be holy and blameless before God. One day we will be held accountable for our role as head of the home and God is going to want to know how we carried this calling out in our homes. He’s going to want to know how your wife is. What will your answer be?

Husbands, is your wife better (more holy) than when God first entrusted her to you?

Prayer Power
LORD, thank You for the precious gift of my wife. Thank You for connecting me with Jack Serra and his revelation regarding the role for husbands. For most of my married life, I didn’t understand my role as a husband. Forgive me for the many ways and times I failed. Continue to bring reconciliation and healing to my marriage. Teach me Your ways and guide me in Your paths of righteousness so that I may create an environment conducive to holiness in my own home. Bless my marriage. Bless my wife. Make our family a testimony of your goodness and greatness. Thank You Jesus! Amen.
