Aloha from the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii

20 Oct

Home is where the heart is!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

Where is some place you have dreamed about for years going to on vacation?

Yesterday afternoon, Julia and I arrived safely in Maui after a long day of flying. Two friends from Culpeper came in on a different flight and have joined us for the first 8 days of our 2-week vacation. Julia competes in the Xterra World Triathlon Championship on Maui on Oct 25.

During my flight, I had the chance to read and reflect on the entire book of Romans. I believe that God has sent me to Hawaii not only to relax, enjoy His creation, and spend quality time with my wife, but to be a missionary for Jesus as well.

For years, going to Hawaii was a pipe dream for me – something I would do some day. Finally, it became a reality. And journaling played a key role in that. On October 12, I wrote a devotional titled “The LORD is doing a marvelous work in me to SIMPLIFY my life,” SIMPLIFY is my keyword for life.

While on vacation on one of the most beautiful islands in the world, I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to touch the lives of hundreds and thousands of people every day through my blogs and other social media.

Thanks to the help of several TEAM DESTINY members, my current business ventures continue to run and grow without my daily input. That’s also fulfillment of a long-time dream for me – to be able to outsource my work. I share this with you not to brag, but rather to let you know what’s possible for you too.

I’d love to see you SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE and have more flexibility in your schedule. So let me share about a few special opportunities to help your grow and go.

In mid November I’ll be launching a 4-week journaling course titled “How To Steward Your Time, Talent, Treasure, and Temple (body) Through Journaling.” Registration will be limited to the first 250 people, so if you’re interested, be sure to keep your eyes open for when registration opens. A few of my Web 2.0 clients have already offered to promote this to more than 500 churches in Richmond, so registration may close quickly.

If you’re interested in learning more about how journaling can benefit you and your dreams, please subscribe to my blog at I’ve started posting daily to that blog with messages to help you grow in your walk with the LORD.

If you’re interested in learning more about how Web 2.0 can benefit your ministry or business, please subscribe to my blog at I’ve begun posting several messages a week to that.

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, thank You for this wonderful privilege to be in Hawaii with my wife and friends. Thank You for my teammates who are helping my business go on while I’m away enjoying your magnificent creation. May you show my followers simple things they can to simplify their lives and magnify their impact. Thank You Jesus. Amen and hallelujah!
