What do you do when you find yourself in the midst of a storm?

On April 29, 2007, sixteen days before he died, Dr. Jerry Falwell preached a message titled “When Storms Come.” Here is what he recommends you do when storms come into your life:

REMEMBER HIS PRESENCE: The God of creation is the God of comfort. He is sovereign, yet He is sympathetic. He manifests His power, but He also ministers His pity. Our God of greatness is a God of grace.   

Jesus promised: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5b)
“Lo, I am with you even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:20b)

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE: Remember you are his possession. God’s man/woman is indestructible until he has finished the work God has called him to do. Therefore, we have no reason to fear anyone or anything.

Acts 27:23 says “For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve,”

REMEMBER WHAT HE SAID: Remember His promises. God is faithful. He is never surprised. His is never perplexed. He is never out of control. Remember what He said.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior (Isaiah 43:2-3a)

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, You are sufficient, You are all powerful, You are in control, You are a good God. When storms come into our lives, may we remember Your presence, remember who we are in Christ, and remember Your promises. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
