The destiny of Virginia will shape the destiny of America!

“Cry aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.” (Isaiah 58:1)

Today voters across America go to the polls to elect or re-elect all members of the U.S. House of Representatives and one third of the members of the U.S. Senate. In addition, voters in Virginia will choose whether to pass the Virginia Marriage Amendment.

Much is at stake. Yet voter apathy is at or near a record high. Why? Because people are tired of negative campaigning, broken promises, lack of transparency, government bureaucracy, and lack of unity.

America is on the brink of moral and financial collapse. Given the severe personal and government debt in our nation, a financial holocaust in on the horizon. Only God can save our nation and to do that, He must awaken His people – the sleeping giant. But how and when?

As a physician, I know that to solve a health problem, one must get to the root of the problem, not just treat the symptoms. When pulling a weed, one must remove the root, or else the weed will grow back quickly.

What is the root of the problems we see in America? It’s apathy toward God. It’s busyness. In the Greatest Commandment, which appears in three of the gospels and the book of Deuteronomy, Jesus said we must love the LORD our God with all our heart, all our mind, all your soul, and all our strength. That means everywhere and all the time. The first of the Ten Commandments states “You shall have no other gods before me.” Yet very few people actually put God first in real terms with how they spend their time and money.

When Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce spoke at the 50 State Tour gathering (March 2004), they declared that Virginia is the “covenant root state”. Virginia has birthed eight U.S. presidents and has a governmental anointing and assignment. It has the oldest continuously governing elected assembly in North America.

Virginia is the “covenant root state” and 2007 is the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, the birthplace of English-speaking America. Virginia will rise to the occasion. The question is, “Will you be a part of it?”

Prayer Power
Dear Father, You have placed a heavy burden on my heart to see Virginia become the healthiest state in the nation by the end of 2007. That means marriages and families must be transformed. And that requires Your people to hunger and thirst for Your righteousness. Light a fire in the hearts of Virginians to fulfill their destiny. Sound the trumpets. Call and assemble a Transformation Virginia team to change the heart of Virginia and then of America. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
