Queen of England Visits Virginia
Your rewards in life are determined by the problems you are willing to solve for others. – Dr. Mike Murdock
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
What role will the Queen’s visit play in the destiny of Virginia in this 07-07-07 year?
How important is the relationship between America and England?
The settlers who established the first permanent English settlement in Jamestown in May 1607, left England in December 1606. After landing on the shores of Cape Henry (Virginia Beach) in late April 1607, planting a large cross, and dedicating the New World to God, they moved inland to Jamestown.
In December 2006, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine went to England and met with Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the settlers leaving England. Now Queen Elizabeth II is visiting Virginia on May 3 and 4. It’s interesting that her visit coincides with the National Day of Prayer when about 40,000 prayer events will take place across America.
On May 4, 2007, the Queen will visit the campus at the College of William and Mary. This visit comes 50 years after Her Majesty’s first visit to the College in 1957. Since my daughter is graduating from William and Mary in two weeks, she will have the opportunity to see the queen.
Prayer Power
Father, thank You for the rich Christian heritage of Virginia, America, and England. Thank You for bringing Queen Elizabeth II back to Virginia to bless our state and nation. Shine Your favor on the Queen’s entire visit to America. Bless Gov. Tim Kaine, the students and faculty at the College of William and Mary, and the people in Jamestown who get to meet her. Bless the Queen’s visit with President Bush. Bless the relationship between America and England. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
