Health is a state of complete physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19)

What steps can you do to take better care of your temple?

On August 13, Lee Kirk, CEO of Culpeper Hospital, gave Julia and me a private tour of the new Powell Wellness Center. This state-of-the-art rehab and training facility in Culpeper opens on August 20, 2007.

“There are very few places like this that are dedicated to wellness and that are paid for by the community” said B.J. Harrington, vice president of the foundation and community relations. This $12 million community wellness center was completely paid for by donations from people in our community.

“The 38,000-square-foot facility – under the umbrella of the Culpeper Regional Hospital – will offer a variety of fitness, wellness and medical services including 75 pieces of cardio and strength equipment, group exercise classes, an indoor track, weight management programs and an aquatic facility featuring a TURTTLE pool, which stands for Therapeutic Unique Rehabilitative Two-Temperature Lap and Exercise.”

This “TURTTLE” pool at the Powell Wellness Center is only the seventh one in the nation and the largest in the America.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the blessing of the new Powell Wellness Center in Culpeper. Thank You for all those who contributed to make this a reality, especially Drs. William and Elizabeth Powell, for whom the facility is named. May Culpeper be a beacon of light to the world for good health. Thank You Jesus. Amen and Hallelujah!
