Sunday Inspiration: Pareto Principle – The 80-20 Rule
During the weekly webinar for The Champions Club on April 28, Vic Johnson taught about Pareto’s Principle, also known as the 80-20 rule or the law of the vital few. This states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
For example:
- 80% of your profits come from 20% of your customers
- 80% of your complaints come from 20% of your customers
- 80% of your profits come from 20% of the time you spend
- 80% of your sales come from 20% of your products
- 80% of your sales are made by 20% of your sales staff
I think you get the picture.
Vic then shared that a few years ago, he was asked to speak to the top 100 owners of independent insurance agencies in the USA. The leader of this group led a paid mastermind group that cost up to $50,000/member/year. They met quarterly. To stay in this mastermind group, you had to identify the bottom 20% of your customers each year and refer them to other agencies who could better meet their needs. So every year, these top producers top-graded their customers.
I’ve decided to do something similar. I want to really bless the top 20% of my followers who take decisive action and demonstrate they are willing to invest the time, money, and energy to go to a higher level of purpose and effectiveness both personally and professionally.
The endorsements for my I Was Busy, Now I’m Not book and coaching program have been pouring in and I am both humbled and amazed at how these are impacting people. I know the Holy Spirit is the inspiration behind all this. This is more confirmation that I am on the right track and operating in my sweet spot.
This week Mark Jenkins (my pastor) sent me this endorsement:
From the CEO who needs direction, to the pastor who needs shepherding of their own, to the mom or dad who constantly seem to be looking for more hours in the day, I Was Busy, Now I’m Not was carefully crafted to take even the most talented CEOs, business leaders, pastors, and work-at-home moms or dads to a higher level of purpose and effectiveness both personally and professionally. This has been created by a master coach who refuses to give pat answers. Dr. Peck exposes the multitude of potholes on the roads of life that slow you down and coaches you through the steps you need to take to personally discover what steps must be taken to reach your full potential.
So what? Now what?
I want to help you get more done and live a full, creative, passionate, and purposeful life.
It’s not too late to enroll in my I Was Busy, Now I’m Not coaching program. Even though we launched on April 30, we still are accepting enrollments through May 7. The replay for the first anointed session has been posted on the private member site.

The key to redeeming your time is focus!
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but ONE thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, (Philippians 3:13)

Before enrolling in the I Was Busy, Now I’m NotTM coaching program, Chris Vercelli was a very busy entrepreneur struggling with his priorities. By changing his thinking about time and establishing a few good habits, Chris was able to break through in his personal, business, and spiritual life.
Blessings to choose to go to a higher level of purpose and effectiveness both personally and professionally!
