I bless you with joy and laughter!

“.. not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” (1 Peter 3:9)

In October 2004, I visited the Focus on the Family headquarters in Colorado Springs for the annual National Day of Prayer (NDP) Task Force meeting. Before I left to come home, Nancy Sharman, the State Coordinator for Virginia Chapter of the NDP, gave me a CD as a gift.

About 1-2 months later, I found the CD in my leather bag, not knowing whether it was a CD or DVD, what it had on it, or who gave it to me. The CD simply stated “I Bless You – Randy.” I put the disk in my computer and discovered it was a CD with a single song called “I Bless You.” Because my computer CD player happened to be set to repeat mode, I ended up listening to this song many times and wrote down the lyrics.

It took me several weeks to find out who gave me the CD. I then learned that Dennis Jernigan wrote the song “I Bless You” and sang it with a lady. A google search led me to www.dennisjernigan.com. There I read Dennis Jernigan’s amazing personal testimony of how he was delivered from a homosexual lifestyle through the power of Jesus Christ. He now has 9 children and has written the theme songs for the National Day of Prayer for 2-3 years in a row.

The song “I Bless You” has become a favorite of mine and our Pray Culpeper team. It is now the theme song for my “A Life of Blessing” ministry.
