Sunday Inspiration: What is in your hand?

What is in your hand?

At the monthly Culpeper County Ministerial Association meeting on November 15, Chaplain Liz Danielsen shared a short, yet profound devotional titled “What is in your hand?” That impacted me so much, I asked Chaplain Liz to schedule a meeting to record her message and turn it into a video to share with the world via the world-wide-web. We completed that on November 18.

Throughout the Bible, God asked people, “What is in your hand?” to show them that He uses ordinary things and people to accomplish His supernatural purposes. Do you want God to do extraordinary things through you this holiday season? What ordinary things do you have in your hand today that He can use?

Rev. Liz Danielsen is a nationally endorsed healthcare chaplain. I knew Chaplain Liz when she was the former chaplain of Culpeper Regional Hospital  in Virginia where I used to work. She is the Founder and Director of Spiritual Care Support Ministries (SCSM), which provides support and education to those who are sick, grieving, experiencing personal losses, and those who journey with them.

More blessings

1) If you live within a reasonable driving distance of Culpeper, Virginia, I want to invite you to come to the annual community Thanksgiving service at 7 pm on Tuesday November 22 at Culpeper Baptist Church. Our guest speaker this year is Rear Admiral United States Navy (Ret.) Barry C. Black. Black, the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate. His message is titled “The Habit of Thanksgiving.”

What is in your handBlack, who served as Chaplain for the U.S. Navy for 27 years, is the first black man to hold the office of Chaplain for the U.S. Senate. As one of the most influential spiritual leaders for politicians in Washington DC., he opens the Senate with prayer every day, runs four Bible studies, and is a pastor to Senators, staff and families, a group encompassing 7,000 people.

2) On Tuesday November 15, I received an email from Sheila Smith recommending I watch “The Importance of Taking Care of Yourself” (Part 1 and Part 2). These two videos with Joyce Myers are fantastic. Joyce asks “Where are you on the list of people that you take care of? ” and says “Somewhere in your life, you have to be in it!

3) In response to my “Sunday Inspiration: Embracing Change” last week, I received an email from Mitch Kersh asking how we got connected. After doing some research, I found out it was through the Visions777 webinar series in 2010. Through my correspondence with Mitch, I discovered he is the founder of Go Kingdom First and one of the most anointed people I know teaching about the reality of the Kingdom of God.

I highly, highly recommend you watch this 12 minute video – “Mitch Kersh – Welcome to the Kingdom“. Wow!
