“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit… I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing… By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” (John 15:1-2, 5, 8)

When someone is on his deathbed, he often says the most profound things of his life and those visiting are listening very carefully. The passage above is Jesus’ deathbed message.

You and I were born to live a life of abundance. In practical terms, fruit represents good works – a thought, attitude, or actions that our God values because it glorifies Him.

If your life consistently bears no fruit, God will intervene to discipline you.

If your life bears some fruit, God will intervene to prune you.
(Second secret of the vine)

If your life bears a lot of fruit, God will invite you to abide more deeply with Him.
(Third secret of the vine).

When you abide, God rewards you by supernaturally multiplying your efforts.

How much eternal fruit is your life bearing?
How much fruit do you want to bear?

Prayer Power
Father God, I praise You as the Vinedresser. Jesus, I praise You as the Vine. I realize that apart from You I can bear no eternal fruit. Thank You for directing the steps in my life to allow me to establish daily habits to abide in You. I know You are inviting me to abide more deeply with You and I accept that invitation. I ask You to bless those reading this message with daily habits to abide in You so that they bear much fruit. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
