Sunday Inspiration: Hope In Front of Me

23 Jun

A day late, but not a dollar short.

I had planned to send my Sunday Inspiration yesterday, but somehow never seemed to muster enough inspiration. Because of my recent hip replacement on June 9, time sitting at my desk is limited. Plus, I had done a lot of physical therapy in the past few days and gone out with my wife to a birthday party, to church, and food shopping, so my left hip and leg were sore and I needed to rest.

Then this morning I received an encouraging email from a good friend and one of my intercessors that really lifted my spirit. In his email, Scott Shofner wrote:

Brother Joseph, While praying or you today I was reminded of a wonderful song about hope and the road ahead for us whose hope is in Christ. Here are the lyrics, and attached is a MP3 of the song. I pray this song and lyric will bless you as it has me.

Hope In Front Of Me

I’ve been running through rain
That I thought would never end
Trying to make it on faith
In a struggle against the wind
I’ve seen the dark and the broken places
But I know in my soul
No matter how bad it gets
I’ll be alright

There’s hope in front of me
There’s a light, I still see it
There’s a hand still holding me
Even when I don’t believe it
I might be down but I’m not dead
There’s better days still up ahead
Even after all I’ve seen
There’s hope in front of me

There’s a place at the end of the storm
You finally find
Where the hurt and the tears and the pain
All fall behind

You open up your eyes and up ahead
There’s a big sun shining
Right then and there you realize
You’ll be alright

There’s hope in front of me
There’s a light, I still see it
There’s a hand still holding me
Even when I don’t believe it
I might be down but I’m not dead
There’s better days still up ahead
Even after all I’ve seen
There’s hope in front of me

There’s a hope still burning
I can feel it rising through the night
And my world’s still turning
I can feel your love here by my side

You’re my hope
You’re the light, I still see it
Your hands are holding me
Even when I don’t believe it
I’ve got to believe
I still have hope
You are my hope

Blessings to hope in Christ, until your hope becomes!

As I read Scott’s email, I felt so inspired, I immediately did a YouTube search using “Hope In Front Of Me” and quickly found this great video:

As I watched and listened to that music video, I noticed there was an extra slide (not part of the lyrics) inserted near the end with Romans 15:13 – “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Romans 15:13

That scripture immediately jumped out at me because last week I received a get-well card from Linda Zobel, another intercessor of mine. On the front of that card was Romans 15:13 and in her card Linda shared that is her theme verse for this year. Then I noticed the YouTube video Holy Spirit led me to was 3 minutes and 33 seconds long (i.e. 3:33) – more encouragement.

Romans 15:13

I know many of you need hope right now. God reached out this morning to provide an extra boost of hope. And he’s doing that for you. Watch the video several times and sing along until you feel uplifted. Let Holy Spirit minister to you. Then pass along this message to some other people you know need hope. May this go viral.

Prayer Power
Abba, Daddy, I praise You as a good God, as a great God. Thank You for the miraculous ways you minister to me and to others. Thank You for today’s special message about hope. I pray this will minister to many, many people around the globe to let your love and light shine brightly. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen and hallelujah!

Blessings to hope in Christ, until your hope becomes!
