Sunday Inspiration: A lot can happen in a year

52 Mondays

In my message last week titled “The Only Disability in Life is a Bad Attitude,” I mentioned that I recently ordered Vic Johnson’s book “52 Mondays: The One Year Path To Outrageous Success and Lifelong Happiness.” That book is having a profound impact on my thinking and is leading to massive action.

In the Introduction to his book, Vic writes:

What have you done since this same time last year? Chances are you can think of many new life lessons, mistakes, victories, and losses, because a lot can happen in a year.

In my case there have been a number of times when a year made a huge difference. For instance, in 1997 I had a family of five to support on just $14,027, but 365 days later I was earning a six-figure income.

The 1991 World Series was chosen by ESPN as the “Greatest of All Time.” But both teams who played for that championship – the Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves – had both finished last in the preceding year. Up until that time, no team that finished last the previous year made it to the Series the next year, and here were two that had gone from worst to first!

A lot can happen in a year, which is very important to remember as you begin this journey with me.

Now ask yourself, if you had started something new and worked on it every week since one year ago, what might you have been able to accomplish? Twelve months, after all, is plenty of time to start accruing success.

For example:

If you had written 1,000 words every week, you’d be close to completing a novel. Or you could have published several how-to ebooks.

If you had taken in one music lesson per week, you might be approaching a level of proficiency.

If you had taken one day per week to start a side business, you could be entertaining the possibility of quitting your job.

So what? Now what? Where will you be a year from now?

This week marks the official launch of the Master’s Dream Academy and I’m taking massive action to empower your dreams.

2) On Tues July 23 at 7:30 pm EST, I’m hosting a live 30 minute webinar titled “A MD’s Perspective on Healthy Water.” For most of my life, I thought “water was water” – that it didn’t make a big difference what kind of water I drank as long as it didn’t have bacteria and it tasted OK. But when our drinking water at home was tested in January 2013, my thinking changed dramatically. Since then I have been on a quest to educate myself and others about what constitutes healthy water. I believe drinking healthy water is the most important thing you can due for your overall health.

3) On Wed July 24 at 7:30 pm EST, I’m hosting a live 30 minute webinar titled “Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life.” When it comes to achieving your goals and achieving any kind of real success, the most important conversation you will have every day is the conversation you have with yourself. If your conversation is filled with negative self-talk, it will be reflected in your results. On the other hand, if your self-talk is a constant stream of uplifting, positive, and reassuring self-talk, you will be confident and self-assured when going after your goals.

If your life feels like it’s upside down, the root cause may be your self-talk. A lifetime of wrong thinking and negative self-talk may be manifesting itself in many different ways. Is it time for you to learn how to to turn negative self-talk to positive?

Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life

Blessings to change your thinking to change your life!
