Simplify to multiply!

Wait on the LORD, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; (Psalm 37:34a)

How simple is your life?

This morning I woke up and went to my secret place where I normally pray to God and worship Him. To my surprise I discovered the ground was covered with two inches of new snow. In the 20 years I have lived in Culpeper, I don’t recall a single time it snowed in April.

My wife told me it was 90 degrees earlier this week on the day before I returned from Israel. This dramatic change in weather made me think of how the Holy Spirit is changing my perspective following my recent trip to Israel.

Before I went to Israel, several people who have been there told me I would never be the same afterwards. How true that is. Something has happened to me which is very hard to describe.

One word best describes God’s instruction to me – “Simplify!”

Even before I left for Israel, God began to change me. The day before I left, I spent hours clearing off the top of my 12 foot long desk at home. It had papers piled up for more than a year.

While I was in Israel asking powerful questions to traveling companions, at least five different people told me they wanted to start the habit of daily journaling. This was without me actually ever bringing up the subject. Journaling is the lead domino for my life.

Prayer Power
Father, what a privilege it is to know and to serve You. Help us to simplify our lives – to “Let go and let God!” May we wait on You instead of trying to pull the cart forward on our own. In Yeshua’s name we pray. Amen.
