“I have found the greatest power in the world is the power of prayer.” – Cecil B. Demille

Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! (Psalm 81:1)

How often do you pray for media leaders?

Usually it’s the guys who like hunting, but not in my home. Each November before Thanksgiving my wife goes hunting for turkey and she nearly always returns with one. This year was no exception. What makes her different than most turkey hunters is that she uses no gun – and no other weapon for that matter.

Yesterday, Julia ran the Remington 5k run in 22:48. Her prize for coming in first place in her age group was a 17 pound turkey. To see photos from that event, visit today’s Link of the Day.

Photos on the net – isn’t media nice. Well, today happens to be National Media Prayer Day, a day set aside to pray for leaders of global media. Perhaps at no time in history have such a small number of men and women wielded such an awesome and continuing influence over so many as do the leaders of our media.

Evangelist Billy Graham was profoundly influenced as a young man by Cecil Demille’s film The King of Kings. His daughter, international preacher and Bible teacher, Ann Graham Lotz, has said that her own conversion as a child took place while watching the film on TV.

Media can be changed from the inside out—one miracle at a time. Today (Sunday November 18, 2007) National Media Prayer Day is being observed in churches across America. Film clips, testimonies from those in media, sermons, and special prayers will observe this day. We invite you to join fellow believers across the country in praying for media leaders!

Prayer Power
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the media You have given that makes it easy and cheap to communicate to people all around the world. We pray for Your presence and power to be evident in media and that You will use today’s prayer events to powerfully and positively impact media leaders and the media industry. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
