Never Felt So Free

“I’ve never felt more free in my life, and I was in a prison.” – Josh Orndorff

“Do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” John 1:50b

Yesterday I shared how Daniel Chinen, a 17 year old high school student from Hawaii, went to Argentina for a summer mission trip a few years ago, and then came back home to ignite a flame for transforming the entire state of Hawaii. What was the key? He witnessed and practiced the principles of prayer evangelism taught by Harvest Evangelism. He experienced the power of the presence of God to change lives.

One Monday in February 2006, our Pray Culpeper team prayed that more pastors would get involved with Pray Culpeper. The very next day, Pastor Randy Orndorff, one of our supporters, was elected to be President of the Culpeper Ministerial Association. He said he never would have accepted that position if it hadn’t been for Pray Culpeper.

In April 2006, I joined two other people from Culpeper Virginia for the Apostolic Transformation Network meeting held in Brooklyn New York and sponsored by Harvest Evangelism. Virginia Morton, one of our regular Pray Culpeper participants, also came. While still in New York City, the Holy Spirit prompted Virginia to invite Pastor Randy and his son Josh to go to Argentina for the July youth mission trip sponsored by Harvest Evangelism. Pastor Randy had other commitments, but God miraculously opened a sequence of doors and provided the finances for Josh to go.

In July 2006, Josh Orndorff, a 17 year old high school student, went to Argentina for 10 days, joining about 160 others to learn and practice the principles of prayer evangelism. This relatively small youth group led more than 1,000 people to the LORD. Josh spent lots of time with Daniel Chinen. On August 20, I had the privilege to hear Josh share his testimony about his Argentina trip at one of the 3 worship services at Culpeper United Methodist Church. It was awesome. Josh’s said over and over “It’s the presence of God that changes lives.” Josh’s testimony was videotaped and soon we will begin distributing that all over Culpeper.

On September 3, a full page article with a large photo of Josh appeared on the front page of the Culpeper News, a local weekly newspaper that goes to every home in the Culpeper community. The title was “Through the presence of God.” Josh was quoted as saying “I’ve never felt more free in my life, and I was in a prison.” Click on the link below to read that entire article.

Father God, thank You for Pastor Randy Orndorff and his leadership in the Culpeper community. Thank you for his wife and three children. Bless the Orndorff family with uncommon favor! Thank You for choosing Josh to be a “Daniel” to lead other “Daniels” in every school in Culpeper. Bless Josh to live a life full of extraordinary miracles and multiply what he does in Culpeper throughout Virginia. Thank You Jesus! Amen.

Your Daily Blessing News
On May 4, 2006, Pastor Randy Orndorff opened his church for a community prayer and worship service for the National Day of Prayer. It was the best one I have ever been to. Then on June 4, 2006, Culpeper hosted its first ever Global Day of Prayer community event. We joined in unity with 500 million other people around the world for the largest prayer gathering in history. Once again, Pastor Randy played a lead role in making this possible.
