Dear Joseph,

This story is so exciting and inspiring, I encourage you to read it all. It’s fantastic that two of our songs will be recorded before we even bring the show to the stage!

Two of the love songs written by Rod Stone of Anacortes, Washington for the August 2012 Marching Through Culpeper stage production have captured the attention of a California promoter and one of Nashville’s top music arrangers.

My Love Will Never Die and Our Union Shall Be Strong will be professionally recorded in Nashville the week of Feb. 27, 2012, with a full orchestra, male and female vocalists, and a choir. These songs will be marketed nationwide as wedding songs.

What amazing sequence of events connected me to Washington state songwriter Rod Stone, to California promoter Dave Yancey, to Nashville music arranger Dave Huntsinger?

Prayer! I started weekly prayer conference calls in 2007 with a core group of my readers across the country. The group began praying for Marching Through Culpeper to be made into a movie. Minnesota native Rick Heeren of Harvest Evangelism, who visited Culpeper on several occasions to teach community transformation through prayer, joined the calls. In 2008 his book Marketplace Miracles highlighted the faith journeys of people who were taking their faith into the marketplace. My story caught the eye of Carrie Stone, wife of song writer Rod Stone. Carrie contacted Rick and suggested that her husband write the music for the Marching Through Culpeper movie.

Rod Stone spent twenty years in Nashville where he had several songs recorded in the Country genre from artists like George Hamilton IV, Ricky Lee Watson, Crystal Gayle, and Jeff and Sheri Easter to Lee Greenwood who recorded and released his song, USA Today for the twenty-fifth anniversary of his famous song, God Bless the USA.”

After reading Marching Through Culpeper, Rod began turning out songs that were perfect! They brought tears to my eyes! Eventually the movie concept was transformed into a stage production with the hope that someday this show will lead to a movie.

When asked why someone from the West Coast would want to invest so much time in a Civil War story, Rod responded, “Truth! This story is dripping with real events and real history in a high-paced, dramatic form. Also, the characters were very captivating to me-Constance Armstrong, Aaron Ames and Frank Stringfellow in particular. Their personalities were so well defined that it was a joy to write their songs.”

Dave Yancey, maketing expert and song promoter, said he admired Rod’s song, USA Today, and contacted him about it, thus beginning their friendship. When Yancey heard these two Marching Through Culpeper songs for the first time, the sound of war was long gone, and in his heart he heard the gentle yet powerful words of two people dedicating their lives to each other with the commitment that, Their Union Shall Be Strong. Dave believed the song was both pre-and post-wedding music in a message that never grows old or out of vogue.

He was caught off guard when he heard the words to the twin song, My Love Will Never Die. He said, “The same beautiful emotion swelled up in my heart again. And from a marketing perspective this song speaks of a love relationship that is seasoned and when tried and tested, embraces the assurance that My Love Will Never Die. These twin songs have a natural fit for funeral settings, as well as love relationships.”

Dave intends to market the sheet music and CDs of the songs through his Sacramento based company, Creative Marketing Plus. Dave believes the dual application will be immediately embraced and give a fresh face on Love and Loss that can only be experienced through these newly inspired songs written by Rod Stone.

David Huntsinger, pianist, composer, songwriter, and arranger, moved from his native California to Nashville, TN, in 1976 and played for the Rambos. He co-wrote the song, Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome, with Dottie Rambo, as well as the children’s musical, Down By The Creek Bank. In 1979 he left the Rambos to pursue a career as a studio pianist. He wrote and arranged music for the 1989 Grammy-winning album A Child’s Gift of Lullabyes, and arranged for and co-produced Andy Griffith’s 1996 Grammy-winning album, I Love To Tell The Story: 25 Timeless Hymns. He has worked with many artists, such as Sandi Patti, Steve Green, Kathy Troccoli, Michael Crawford, Glen Campbell, Carman, Larnelle Harris, Johnny Cash, and Dolly Parton. He toured with Vince Gill for a Christmas tour in 1999, and in 2001 for the Amy Grant/Vince Gill Christmas tour. He has also written a number of children’s musicals, as well as produced many albums of his own original works and arrangements.

Dave says, “When Rod Stone called me to help him arrange and record two songs that he wrote for a theatrical production of Virginia’s Marching Through Culpeper I was excited. I love history and music from the American Civil War era. Then Virginia sent me her novel, which enthralled me from the first page. Very soon I felt as though I was in Culpeper County, Virginia 150 years ago. I knew if the play captured the heart-tugging story that I’d read in Virginia’s novel, it would be compelling on stage.”

He added, “I have known Rod Stone and his songs for almost twenty years, and when I heard the first two written for this production, I was struck by their timelessness and universality. They reflect his sophisticated song craftsmanship, a skill honed in Rod’s years as a commercial songwriter in Nashville, but they also sound as though they could have been written in the 19th century.”

“The timeless classic quality of these songs must in a theatrical work not only define setting and time, but also transcend it,” he continued. “The upcoming Nashville recordings will feature compelling, American voices to portray the lead characters Constance and Aaron. We will also work with musicians whose credits include contributions to films like Cold Mountain and O, Brother, Where Art Thou? I look forward to these recording sessions and to capturing the heart of Rod Stone’s songs in the service of what I believe will be a stellar production.”

Pour your creativity into them as they record these songs, so the resulting CDs will be heard around the world as couples pledge their love to each other forever. The search is on! What talented performers/singers will be selected to bring Marching Through Culpeper’s four leading characters vividly to life on stage? Auditions are scheduled for March 4, 6, and 11 in order to give college students home on spring break an opportunity to audition. So please help us get the word out by forwarding this to anyone you think might be interested.

The story revolves around the unlikely romance between a young Culpeper lady and a Union soldier.

Constance Armstrong – Female, 18-20, Caucasian, strong-willed, forward thinking Culpeper native, loyal to Confederacy and family, mezzo soprano, solo, duets with Aaron, and group numbers.

Aaron Ames – Male, 22-30, Caucasian, Union officer from New England, “ruggedly handsome” romantic lead, gentlemen, baritone range, has solo ballad, duets with Constance, and comic group piece.

Frank Stringfellow – Male, 18-22, Caucasian, small, wiry-built Confederate scout from Culpeper, comical part, (Stringfellow is one of the many non-fictional characters in the play) baritone-tenor range; has up-tempo solo.

Sadie Jordan – Female, African American, over 40, high-spirited loyal Armstrong family servant, no singing required.

Please come prepared to do cold readings from the script. Bring sheet music of your choice; an accompanist will be provided. If possible, email Patricia at Kapak Talent Direct kapakdt.patricia@hotmail.com and tell her your dates of availability and which role you will be auditioning for. Auditions for other roles and extras will take place at a later date.

Production dates are August 3-5 and 10-12, 2012, in the Eastern View High School auditorium, Culpeper, VA.

This show is the cornerstone event of two weekends of activities planned to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Mountain. It is being widely marketed, is attracting tour buses, and should draw large audiences. This story of love across the battlelines has the potential to become an annual event. So be a part not only of bringing history alive, but of making history!

The video below is the best message on prayer I have ever heard and it’s by a pastor (Dr. Yongii Cho) who started the largest church in the history of the Christian world.

Last night (Feb 13, 2012), the LORD ended my day with an exclamation point, including a wonderful conversation with Will Green. During our conversation, Will was prompted to email me his long list of YouTube videos with inspirational Christian messages and anointed worship. Will told me hespent about 80 hours watching these over the previous 2-3 weeks.

I went to bed at 8 pm listening to my Word Warrior Audio Bible starting with Genesis 11, the story of Abraham. I woke up with a vivid dream around 1 am on Feb 14 (Valentine’s Day).

DREAM: I was in some type of old house with lots of Christians. The house had many gaping holes in the roof and walls. Then a plane approached. I was not concerned at first, but then someone suggested we all get on the floor and take cover. As the plane flew overhead, it fired some type of weapon that caused people it hit to die in agony. The plane kept circling and attacking, each time getting closer to the roof top as it dropped in altitude. Finally, I stood up and fired something that attached to the plane to harm it. Eventually, I blew up the plane.

This dream is a reminder that you are in a major spiritual war. The enemy is taking out God’s children and you must stand in gap with purposeful and strategic prayer (INTERCESSION) to take the enemy out.

I got up at 1:25 am, shaved, took a shower, and washed my hair. Then I came downstairs and began journaling. The first thing I did was to write down the three ways the LORD ended my yesterday with an exclamation point. Then I was prompted to access my Gmail to find Will Green’s email with the link to this outstanding video teaching about prayer by Dr. Yongii Cho.

While I was visiting some Kingdom-minded leaders in Gig Harbor, WA (near Seattle) on Sat Feb 4, two of the people who attended the National Prayer Breakfast on Feb 2 told me how extraordinary that event was this year.

Today I received an email from a relative telling about the rousing keynote speech delivered by Eric Metaxis, author of the New York Times bestselling ‘Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy’ (Thomas Nelson, 2010).

Eric urged the assembled audience of over 3,500 leaders from the United States and around the world — including President Barack Obama and first lady, Michelle — to follow the example of the martyred German pastor in boldly living their faith and loving both their enemies and the ‘least of these’ — including political opponents, minorities and the unborn. He finished by leading the assembled in a rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’.

I just watched the 90 minute video of that National Prayer Breakfast. What an encouraging prayer event. When you have time, I recommend you watch the video.

Metaxas had the audience — and President Obama — in uproarious laughter throughout, but particularly when, in referencing his 624-page bestselling biography of Bonhoeffer and handing it to the President, he said ” … President George W. Bush read this. So … no pressure.”

Yesterday I received the American Family Association’s ACTION newsletter for January 2012 in the mail. What was written on the outside of that envelope grabbed my attention, so I opened it and read the message from Tim Wildmon, President of the AFA.

How to drive secularists crazy

What Tim Wildmon wrote about the Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow really struck a cord with me.

This morning while I was lying in bed, the Holy Spirit instructed me to intercede for Tim Tebow today.

I thought the Denver Broncos were playing their wildcard playoff game today, but it turns out they are playing the Pittsburgh Steelers at home tomorrow (Sunday January 8) at 3:30 pm. This game will be broadcast on CBS.

When I was at my desk, I was led to do some kind of Google search about Tim Tebow. This led to more interest and more research. Then I was prompted to write my Sunday Inspiration for tomorrow and titled that “My Sports Hero Is Tim Tebow.”

After doing that, I was prompted to spend 90 minutes typing all four pages of Tim Wildmon’s January 2012 newsletter and posting that message on Your Daily Blessing blog.

In the process of doing that, I came across Rod Stone’s YouTube video titled “The Prayer” and Janet Parshall’s 60-minute documentary “Speechless…Silencing the Christians.”

So what? Now what?

Tim Tebow is under terrific spiritual attack.

When Tim took over as the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos in mid season this year, Denver went on to win 7 out of 8 games, before losing their last 3 and barely squeaking into the playoffs. This was a strong spiritual attack.

According to Seth Ross, my daughter’s fiance, Tim is not well liked by the new Broncos head coach (John Fox) and general manager (John Elway).

God is asking us to intercede for Tim Tebow today and during tomorrow’s football game. Will you join me?

Tim Tebow is a good athlete and a wonderful godly role model for young people. Perhaps more than anyone in professional football today, Tim Tebow is taking a strong and open stand for Jesus. His religious style is so bold, and his character so distinctive, that both are impossible to ignore.

In 2007, Tim won the Heisman Trophy for college football, the first college sophomore ever to do that. In December 2009, he was drafted by the Denver Broncos as the 25th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

On Sunday January 8, 2012 Tim will lead the Denver Broncos in a wild card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Mile High Stadium in Denver.

Help Tim to feel and respond to the prayers of the saints from around the world. Bless Tim as he leads the Denver Broncos tomorrow against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Don’t Pray Small Prayers

 
On Labor Day (Sept 5), my wife, daughter, and I drove from Culpeper to Massanutten Virginia to visit my parents. On our way back home in the dark and pouring rain, my daughter and I talked about emergency preparedness.

I told her about the emergency preparedness seminar in Culpeper on Saturday Aug 27 led by Chuck and Linda Reber, who came from Hurricane WV. It just so happened that on the day they came, Hurricane Irene was passing by the coast of eastern Virginia. Interesting, huh?

Anyhow, after getting up early on the morning of Sept 6, I was prompted to visit Chuck and Linda’s website for the Shiloh House of Prayer to learn more about emergency preparedness. Serendipitously, that led to a whole series of powerful videos, websites, and prayer guides.

These two videos and the link to the prayer guides really inspired me and I felt compelled to share those with you this morning.

I’d like to augment these very true and powerful words from your message below:

This evil that is permeating itself across this nation is … from a dearth of prayer and a lack of national moral strength and leadership.

In God’s perfect timing, I’ve had the privilege this morning of reading a sermon by Ray Stedman from 1967 – in the midst of the tumultuous times of war and moral, political, institutional and doctrinal upheaval, similar to these current days. Rev. Stedman at the end of his sermon makes a connection I’ve never fully and clearly made, between the dominion mandate God gave mankind in Genesis and the critical role that prayer plays in carrying out the mandate. It hits me that if intercessory prayer for changes in the world around us is part of the mandate, it’s not optional! Here’s the link to the sermon:

“This brings us to the matter of prayer. What is prayer, this mysterious power placed in the Christian’s hands? Primarily, it is a means of communication between God and man, but secondarily, it is a means of control of the events of earth. Have you ever seen prayer in that light? Look at First Timothy, Chapter 2. Paul says, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions. [Why? Why pray for kings and those in high positions?] that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way,” (1 Timothy 2:1-2 RSV). That will be the result of prayer, the ability to lead a quiet and peaceable life. That means that when riots, tumults, and outbreaks begin to occur, prayer can have a very vital effect upon these things. Prayer can quiet these social outbreaks that threaten the peace of our time. Christians have no idea what is committed to them in this ministry of reigning over the events of life. This is evidenced by the fact that we really have very little confidence in prayer, as is seen in the attendance at prayer meetings.

Lambert Dolphin was telling me this past week about a circumstance that occurred when the Beatles came to Kansas City recently. The women in the Christian Women’s headquarters there became concerned about this because they knew that the Beatles exercised a strange magic over young people. They whip up youthful enthusiasms and create mesmeric forces that lead young people to see life in a distorted fashion with the ideas and values of the world greatly exaggerated, and spiritual truth diminished to a minute degree. So they organized a prayer meeting to counteract the effect of the Beatles when they came into town. And when the Beatles came, they were very disappointed in the response. They did not find the enthusiastic reception they had had in other places. And the young people seemed to experience no aftereffects from their visit, but went about their business, enjoying life quite free from these influences. When this same group heard of the riots breaking out in Detroit they gathered for prayer. The next day the riots took a different turn and quietness fell upon the scene again.

Well, you say, that is just coincidence. Perhaps, perhaps, but the scriptural record and the testimony of 2000 years of church history speak otherwise. When the people of God are faithful in prayer, wonderful things can be accomplished.

I was just with John Noble in Tyler, Texas. This man had the cruel experience of being incarcerated for nine years in a Soviet slave labor camp above the Arctic Circle. His father was there with him, and was placed in solitary confinement for three years. He had no one to talk to and was almost driven out of his mind by the silence. But he had been led to Christ by the sufferings of this labor camp, and he began to pray that God would send him a Bible. What could be more unlikely than to have a Bible be given to a prisoner in solitary confinement in a Russian slave labor camp? But he kept on praying that God would give him a Bible. He asked the guard one day if there was any reading material he could have. The guard said “No, of course not!” — that even if they had some they could not give it to him. But the next day there came a summons from the commandant to appear before him. When the prisoner was led in, the commandant said to him, “The guard tells me you’ve asked for reading material. I know what you want, you want a Bible.” And he turned around and reached on the shelf in back and handed him a Bible. He said, “We didn’t have a Bible here and we had to send to West Germany to get this for you.” What moved him to get that Bible, no one knows. He had to send outside of Soviet controlled territory to get it. But God moved that man to get a Bible and that Bible sustained Mr. Noble’s father all through the long months of his imprisonment. That is reigning in life.

Why is it that the United States has been unable to disengage itself from Vietnam? It is my personal conviction that much of it is because Christians, who ought to know better, are wasting their time in political demonstrations and protests on a physical level, and ignoring the spiritual weapons which God has placed in their hands by which with concerted prayer this thing could be brought to a close. That is why Paul says in Second Corinthians 10, “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal,” (2 Corinthians 10:4a KJV). They are not fleshly. They are not the means which worldlings use to accomplish their results, but, he says, “they are mighty … to the pulling down of strong holds … and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

What fools are we to lay aside these mighty weapons of spiritual power and waste our time in futile outward demonstrations which only serve to inculcate more resistance and more violence. We are called to reign in life, to have dominion over the things of earth and the forces of it. This is why James, writing to the Christians of his day (because they had the same problems that we have), says to them, “You have not, because you ask not,” (James 4:2b). Oh, the authority of faith!

This theme runs all the way through Scripture and traces for us the accomplishments of men and women who learned to utilize the weapons of spiritual power God had placed in their hands and to speak with the authority of faith. The account of it is given in Hebrews 11. I suggest you read that through to learn how thrones were toppled, kingdoms changed, armies repelled, and many other events of earth, the things which were reported in the papers of that day, were affected by the power of men and women who learned to reign in life through Jesus Christ.”

UNCOMMON Journaling is the key

On the night of Sunday June 8, 2008 I went to bed around midnight and chose not to set my PDA alarm. I woke up around 6:25 AM the next morning (June 9) to use the bathroom and then lay in bed for about 10 minutes resting and reflecting before finally getting up. When I got up, I immediately came to my office, knelt down, and prayed. After that, I began journaling on my computer.

The first thing I was prompted to do was write a message titled “Are you seeking BREAKTHROUGHS in your life?” to send to my Your Daily Blessing followers in two days (on March 11). The key scripture I had chosen was Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

Next, Holy Spirit prompted me to help Dr. Jerry Graham prepare a Daily Gram (e-blast) for him to send to his 800 or so followers on Wed June 11 about the introductory journaling webinars (“UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs”) we were promoting together. The purpose of those was to spark interest in the 5-week UNCOMMON Journaling For DESTINY online coaching program we were launching live on June 17 and 18.

When I accessed Jerry’s Constant Contact (email marketing) account to post the message I had prepared, I discovered to my surprise that Jerry had already prepared an outstanding message titled “Journaling as Communion with God” using the exact same scripture verse I had chosen – Habakkuk 2:2.

In his message (upcoming email), Jerry mentioned that the two of us were teaming up to do a 5-week, 35-day on-line course in journaling (UNCOMMON Journaling For Destiny) with a special emphasis on understanding your life purpose or destiny. He went on to say this was an exciting combination of two of the most significant learning experiences he had been blessed with in his life, namely journaling as a means of engaging in a two-way dialog with God, and coaching with a specific emphasis on the “discovery” of one’s life purpose and destiny.

Jerry went on to write, “Over 25 years ago, I was taught to journal as a means of hearing God’s voice by Dr. Mark Virkler, who has since become a good friend and ministry colleague. Mark developed a seminar that he continues to teach to this day around the world, called ‘Communion With God’.” I recommend you CLICK HERE to read Jerry’s entire email message. Jerry is one of the most experienced DESTINY coaches in the world.

Jerry’s email (that he hadn’t even sent out yet) prompted me to call Dr. Mark Virkler later that afternoon (June 9). This was the very first time I had ever spoken to or met Mark Virkler and what he shared was so inspiring. I discovered that Mark is one of the top teachers in the world about spiritual journaling. As I was showing Mark how I journal online and shared the amazing story about Habakkuk 2:2 from that morning, Mark told me Habakkuk 2:1-2 is the foundational scripture for his Communion With God Ministries.

Now that grabbed my attention. 3 times in one day the LORD brought the same scripture (Habakkuk 2:2) to my attention and from 3 different sources. So I was all ears as Mark shared his profound wisdom and insights with me. And Mark promptly followed up our conversation by sending two emails, including one titled “You Can Hear God’s Voice!”

Early the next morning (Tuesday June 10), I woke up with Holy Spirit’s instruction to immediately apply Mark’s “4 keys to hear God” and also design a new computer desktop image with those 4 keys. After typing my prayer with a 2-way dialog with God, I was astonished with the result – a deeper intimacy with the LORD.

It’s interesting to note that Holy Spirit had actually prompted Jerry to refer me to Mark two weeks earlier knowing we were soon launching our journaling course because he knew Mark well and that he was one of more experienced journalers in the world. However, as most of us frequently do, I failed to seize the opportunity at that time.

How many times have you missed GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES because of failure to act in a timely fashion?

LORD, you want each of us to learn to hear Your voice because You love us and have specific instructions to give us each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things You want us to know and to do. You know what works and what doesn’t. You want to take each of us to an entirely new level of abiding in You. You want us to experience Your love like never before. You want us to know that You’re not just here beside us, but You’re here to answer questions that we have. You have been waiting. Heavenly Father, here I go, writing out my spontaneous prayer early in the morning. I’m so excited to get back to what I’ve known for quite a while You want me to do. Forgive me for allowing all sorts of distractions to get in the way of this magnificent habit. Thank You for Your attention grabber yesterday with Habukkuk 2 and the UNCOMMON connection to Mark Virkler and his UNCOMMON message.

Thank You for waking me up early this morning knowing You wanted me to change my desktop background to include an image of Jesus, Mark Virkler’s 4 keys to hear from God, and Habukkuk 2:1-3. Thank You for each image of Jesus You led me to. Thank you Holy Spirit for using me as Your instrument to design the new image using Photoshop. I love it.

Jesus, I see You and hear You saying “You want to dine with me this morning and each day. You’re certainly welcome here in my home and wherever I go. I hear You saying “You want to start having two way conversations instead of one way ones. I hear You saying You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.” I hear You saying “You’ve been knocking on the door of my heart – that You have the answers to the problems I’ve been facing and that the solutions are very simple. You have solutions to my financial difficulties.”

I hear you saying “Mark Virkler’s web page for Outstanding Links” is full of prospects and new contacts for you – people who have been waiting years to have God connect you to them.” I hear You saying, “Bless Mark – to open new vistas for him through social marketing.”

VISION: I see NEW HORIZONS OF OPPORTUNITIES opening for Mark as He steps into the Internet space age. I see Mark standing at the beach looking out at the ocean while a magnificent sunrise takes place. I see Mark fall to his knees and start to cry. This is what he has been waiting for. This is his MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. I see people – lots of people starting to run up and surround Mark on the beach. So many people coming. They’ve been waiting to meet Mark. They want to just be near him. They want to learn from him. O God, I’m overwhelmed with what You are showing me. I’m overwhelmed by the joy on so may people’s faces.

Now I see the people around Mark beginning to sit down. Mark is starting to speak to them like You did, Jesus, for Your sermon on the mount. Now the people are eating while they listen. This is one of the most beautiful picnic scenes I have ever seen. So many people. Now more are coming. People are hungry for Your Word. They want to hear from You Jesus. This is what they’ve been waiting for. Overwhelming. Joy. Delight. Free thought. Freedom.

Now I hear You saying Jesus that “You want me to take everyone who signs up for Jerry and my 5 week online journaling course to go through something similar – to learn to hear God by following Mark’s 4 keys.”

I’m so excited. Thank You Jesus for showing this to me.

I hear You saying “You are going to open Mark’s eyes to the new horizons that WEBINARS will open for him. Not just doors, not just gates, but horizons of opportunities. I hear You saying “COVENANT with Mark!!!” You have knit our hearts together. You have been patiently waiting for this moment – for this opportunity to advance the Kingdom of God through the combination of journaling, coaching, and the web.

Now I see myself lying down to rest. You’re telling me go back to bed. Lay down. You’ve been obedient. My glory is upon You. People will be attracted to You because You will have the “AROMA OF CHRIST.” What you offer will be irresistible to so many people. Rest now. Rest. Peace be with you. My peace. Thank You for dining with me. I’ve really enjoyed this. Now you get it. It’s so easy. I’ve been waiting to have Mark teach you. You will never be the same. Journaling is two lovers sharing love… speaking back and forth.

So you can write in the first person, as Jesus speaking directly to you and calling you by name. He will say, “my son, I want to you know…” so He is speaking in the first person to you… rather than the way you have it written… “I hear you saying that…”

It is just one more step of faith for you to take… not a hard thing… it will come naturally.

On June 18, 2008 the morning after the very first “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” class, I began the “daily” habit of applying Mark’s 4 keys to hear from God. Here is what Jesus told me in response to the Day #1 destiny question:

Day 1 Question
Lord, why do You want me to learn to hear Your voice?

Because I love You and I have specific instructions to give You each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things I want you to know and to do. Randy, I know what works and what doesn’t. I want to take you to an entirely new level of abiding in Me. I want you to experience My love like never before. I want You to know that I’m not just here beside You, but I’m here to answer questions that You have. I’ve been waiting.

All the things you’ve been praying and waiting for, I want to make happen. It was Me who put those desires in your heart. But first you had to learn to hear My voice. I know what order You are to do things, when You are to do things, what to do, and what not to do. I’m not a vague God. Just as you want your children to know clearly what you want them to do, so I want You to know clearly what I want You to to. I love You Randy. I want You to be married to Me, not just engaged. I can use you because You have a heart after my own heart. I’ve been preparing You. The time in NOW. Behold I do a new thing. My glory is upon You. My favor is upon You.

Jesus, I’m overwhelmed. This morning as I reflected back on yesterday, I realized all the breakthroughs that happened in just that one day. Then this morning, I have one of the most awesome days of my life. When Amy told me the Holy Spirit kept nudging her to pay for Beth Spangler, I was so grateful. Beth has been looking for and waiting for a friend like Amy for years. Thank You Jesus. Thank You.

Randy, this journaling course is more for you than it is for the participants. When I had Matt Gregory and Ben Stewart sign up as the first two people in the “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” course, that was huge. You see, I’ve brought them into your life to be in covenant relationship with you for life. The greatest habit I have blessed you with is journaling and now I want to have you bless them with that habit. I want to take them to a much deeper abiding in Me. I want them to learn to hear My voice. Thank You, Randy, for obeying my recent instruction to listen to Julia.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FOR JANET SUDDUTH

Dear Friends of Global Spheres:

I am sending out to you dear friends an extremely urgent prayer request on behalf of our beloved Janet Sudduth. You all did such a wonderful job praying for me in my special time of need during my shoulder surgery on December 7 that I would like to impose upon you all to pray for an even more urgent situation for Janet.

Bill and Janet Sudduth are very close personal friends, also members of Global Spheres, who are involved in deliverance ministry. They began the deliverance ministry at the Brownsville Revival in the Bible school. It was at some of my seminars that I met Bill and Janet and they were soaking up all that they could about deliverance. They are extremely effective ministers and work day and night. They have a very busy traveling schedule and Bill lately has been teaching on freedom from Freemasonry and Islam. Bill and Janet moved to Colorado Springs three years ago to help watch after us in our old age, and have been very committed to us personally. They are some of our dearest friends. When they moved to Colorado Springs, we gave them some space in our building where they are carrying on their ministry to date. It has continued to expand and we are delighted with the wonderful work they are doing. Peter and I recently turned over the leadership of the International Society of Deliverance Ministers to Bill and Janet. Since we closed down the Global Harvest Ministries and shifted into Global Spheres, moving our offices to our home, Bill and Janet have continued on in the building and would dearly love to purchase it as I mentioned in my last letter to you.

Janet began feeling a little discomfort and a persistent cough last month. She went to the doctor and got a chest x-ray, and then a cat scan, and a mass the size of a softball was discovered in one lung, and a spot was detected in the other lung. The results of the biopsy taken last week just came back just this morning, and indeed the large mass is malignant. The situation is complicated due to the fact that their ministry has but a few employees, they do not have health insurance. They are needing to have a pet scan done quickly to see if the malignancy has spread to other parts of Janet’s body.

We really need urgent prayer and a miracle concerning this matter. I asked Janet if it would be okay for me to let you all know about this situation and she said that she would gladly take all the prayer that she could get right now. So I am appealing to you, prayer warriors, to take up the armor and go to war on Janet’s behalf. She is desperately needed in the body of Christ. Janet has never been a smoker, but lung cancer has run in her family and she has already lost two sisters to lung cancer. We have prayed to break this curse in her family line, but need to go into intense warfare right now. Would you please pray for this situation as it comes to mind and ask God for the miracle we need for Janet’s complete healing.

Life works much better when you operate out of spending time with the Father and hearing His heart for you. When I want to know what God has to say to me I make time to sit undisturbed and write in my journal.

Today I sense the Father asking me to share one of last week’s journal entries with you.

On November 3rd I wrote:

What do you want me to know today Father? I’m here to listen, I love hearing what you have to say to me.

This is what I sensed the Lord say in reply:

I really am your Daddy. Believe it. you are precious to Me and what matters to you matters to Me.

I love the way you are drawing aside to have special times of communion with Me. Think of how you are with your children and how it gladdens your heart when they choose to spend time with you and ask for your wisdom.

Know that I love you. I will provide all you need and direct your paths. Remember what I said about focus. Focus on one thing and complete it before moving onto the next.

I am giving you tools and support to help you do what I have called you to do. Be reassured that you are on the path that I have mapped out for you.

It is My idea that you offer How To Hear God’s Voice as a coaching program. People are hungry and they are looking for Me, desperate to know how to hear Me. Run with it, have fun with it and listen for My voice in it. I will direct your steps and show you what it looks like.

You have wisdom because you take time to listen. You will be more in demand. Before you say yes to invitations check to see that it is where I am working, and have the courage to say no even to good things that will simply keep you busy.

You know more than you know you know. You hear more than you know you do. Many times when you have spontaneously thought to do something it has been My prompting. Have the courage to follow those promptings even when they seem silly to you.

Continue to delight in me. IMMERSE yourself in the things that are dear to My heart and yours and be free to be you. I love you and so do your family and friends. You don’t need to try to be like anyone else, simply be you. Who you are in me is delightful. You cause my heart to sing and I delight to bless you.

Know that you walk in my blessing and enjoy it. Enjoy what I give you and enjoy who you have become. Delight yourself in abundance and prepare to be surprised at what I will do.

You are being used to transform many lives, your reach is further than you know.

It’s time to CELEBRATE. Celebrate what I have done and who you have become. Celebrate and know that my goodness and loving kindness last forever.

Pick up the threads I hand you and I will show you how to weave them into a beautiful tapestry. Don’t concern yourself with what it will look like, simply follow my directions and know that it will be beautiful. I will take care of everything just like good daddies do.

Journaling is a powerful way to tune into what the Lord is saying, I hope you are encouraged to try this for yourself.

I began by chattering -

It’s a red letter day! No accident that I am writing in red today. Interesting to note that the Lord is already speaking through events and coincidences. Why is today so significant? Because I am writing a book that will be published. How exciting is that!! It will become a whole series of books….

It feels like you have brought me back to why I went online in the first place – to help people with the help that helped me. If my excitement is anything to go by then I have come home and am about to walk into my destiny. I need to know whether this is an idol that will get in the way and detract from my true purpose…But enough from me, I want to know what you have to say…

Still and quiet your soul and wait. there’s no rush, sit a while with Me and rest. Bask in My presence and let’s enjoy one another.

Just as your lounge echoes light and nourishes the soul, restoring peace, so will you. Your mission is to do people good. Your books will give people who can’t meet with you one on one an opportunity to benefit from the wisdom I have placed in you.

Your name is no accident – Lynne – by the pool or waterfall, refreshing one. You bring encouragement and refreshment wherever you go. Your books will bring hope and encouragement, they will provide keys. Run with this, it is my doing, it was My idea.

Think on how this began. It was born out of prophecy and vision. What is happening now is the fulfillment of a lifetime of desire and longing. I planted the desire to write. I have riches for you to share and now is the time to release them. These last few years have laid the foundation and infrastructure to make it possible.

Keep on dreaming, dream with Me and dare to do what you once thought to be impossible, nothing is impossible with me. I AM the God of infinite possibilities. Partner with Me and allow My Holy Spirit to lead you and show you the way.

Know that you CAN do what I have called you to do. When I call I also equip and you are well equipped.

Enjoy this time and know that the best is yet to come. Put aside any doubts you have and know that I am the enabler…I will enable you to do this. I will give you what you need when you need it and I will show you how.

I have already connected you with the people who can help and support and cheer you on. You will see your dreams come into being, and hope fulfilled will be like a tree of life.

In the physical realm winter is fast approaching but for you spring is here. the long dormant seeds are bursting forth into life. Enjoy the garden I AM creating for you. Delight in my creation and know that I do all things well.
