Over the past few weeks, the LORD has been speaking to me in a variety of ways to STOP STRIVING. I even had a vivid dream on April 15 that woke me up about this. I sense strongly this message is intended for many other people too, perhaps you.

During our last Master’s Mind Marketing group meeting for the Founding Father’s Tribe on April 19, Jeff Clark had us reflect on Proverbs 10:22 – “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow (labor) with it!”

Jeff went on to explain that the Hebrew word translated sorrow here actually means hard labor, hard toil, striving. He said another way to translate Proverbs 10:22 is “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and our labor adds nothing to it!”

According to Adam Clarke’s Commentary, “Whatever we receive in the way of providence, has God’s blessing in it, and will do us good. Cares, troubles, and difficulties come with all property not acquired in this way; but God’s blessing gives simple enjoyment, and levies no tax upon the comfort.”

According to Family Bible Notes, “True prosperity flows from God’s presence and blessing. Without this all apparent success will but multiply our troubles.”

The world says “Follow these steps to success,” but God says “Rest in Me, abide in Me, and I will take care of your needs.”

Psalm 127:1 admonishes us, “Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it;”

And in Deuteronomy 8:18, Moses warns “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”

Through Jesus Christ, we become adopted sons of Abba Father, being set free from the bondage of sin and death. After our spiritual rebirth, God wants us to live our lives as sons of His, not as slaves.

In the story of the Prodigal Son, the father reminds his oldest son after he complains about the favorable treatment of his younger brother, “Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.” (Luke 15:31)

Are you striving to make things happen? Are you complaining about the lot dealt in your life?

If so, then stop right now. And start flowing in the Spirit by following God’s game plan

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

That broke my heart because Chuck Colson was a spiritual giant and a champion for religious freedom. While I was deeply saddened by this news, I rejoice knowing he left a plan of succession. Charles W. “Chuck” Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship and the Colson Center for Christian Worldview, died this afternoon from complications of a brain hemorrhage. Colson was 80 years old and was surrounded by his wife Patty and family as he graduated to Heaven. (Photo: Christian Post)

According to chuckcolson.org, “Colson spent the last years of his life in the dual role of leading Prison Fellowship, the world’s largest outreach to prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families, and the Colson Center, a teaching and training center focused on Christian worldview thought and application. Colson maintained that the greatest joy in life for him was to see those ‘living monuments’ to God’s grace: Prisoners transformed by the love of Jesus Christ.”

Colson was involved in the Watergate scandal in the early 70s, which lead him to spending a year in federal prison. It was there where his ministry and legacy was birthed. After being released, Chuck founded Prison Fellowship in 1976 to “proclaim to inmates the love and the power of Jesus Christ.” In 1977, he started a Biblically-based teaching seminar in prison which paved the way for hundreds of thousands of prisoners to receive Bible studies across the nation and has spread worldwide ever since. Prison Fellowship relies on more than 20,000 volunteers nationwide and is also an international ministry in more than 100 countries worldwide through the work of Prison Fellowship International.

Bio of Charles W. Colson

More than 30 years ago, Charles W. Colson was not thinking about reaching out to prison inmates or reforming the U.S. penal system.

In fact, this aide to President Richard Nixon was “incapable of humanitarian thought,” according to the media of the mid-1970s.

Colson was known as the White House “hatchet man,” a man feared by even the most powerful politicos during his four years of service to President Nixon.

When news of Colson’s conversion to Christianity leaked to the press in 1973, the Boston Globe reported, “If Mr. Colson can repent of his sins, there just has to be hope for everybody.”

Colson would agree. He admits he was guilty of political “dirty tricks” and willing to do almost anything for the cause of his president and his party.

In 1974, Colson entered a plea of guilty to Watergate-related charges; although not implicated in the Watergate burglary, he voluntarily pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the Daniel Ellsberg case.

He entered Alabama’s Maxwell Prison in 1974 as a new Christian and as the first member of the Nixon administration to be incarcerated for Watergate-related charges. He served seven months of a one-to-three year sentence before being released.

But Colson never really left prison. Haunted by the desperation and hopelessness he saw behind bars, Colson knew he had to do something to help the men he left behind. In fact, he had a promise to keep.

Today is Easter, also known as Resurrection Sunday, the most significant day in the Christian calendar.

My pastor frequently refers to Easter as the Christian Superbowl. More people go to worship services on Easter and Christmas than any other days of the year.

This message today is the most profound one I have ever written. If you are open to receive blessings from the throne room of heaven, this message will inspire, enlighten, and tranform you.

On Resurrection Sunday, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who came as the Passover Lamb 2,000 years ago and will return soon as the Lion of Judah.

According to Ron DiCianni, “The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the single act in history that separates Christianity from every other religion, every other philosophy, and every other belief system!”

Ron is a world renown artist who was commissioned a few years ago to paint the largest mural ever of the resurrection (12 fee high by 40 feet wide). It took him two years to complete. The Resurrection Painting now hangs in the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas Texas.

More than anything eles, the message of the cross is one of FORGIVENESS. Without unconditional forgiveness, it’s impossible to experience the unconditional Agape love of Father God.

Chances are you are in bondage right now because of unforgiveness, be it obvious or hidden. The Holy Spirit is inviting you to be set free.

At the end of the worship service on the last day (March 25) of the Kingdom Economic Yearly Summit (KEYS) in Los Angeles, John Anderson said the three most powerful words you can ever say are “I forgive you!”

In an earlier email sent on Februrary 13, John wrote:

The critical importance of forgiveness has been emphasized over and over.

Take time EVERY DAY to …

• Forgive God
• Forgive Yourself
• Forgive Everyone ELSE

Some have raised their eyes at “forgiving God” – since He cannot Sin – - – but I have certainly been angry – upset – disappointed – offended by His action or delays….. and that always damages my willingness to trust Him completely…… So, forgive the OFFENSE you TOOK …. rather than the OFFENSE He gave…….. in any case Forgive.

In a recent church service, I was asked to pray for a lady with severe fibromyalgia (hands had not opened in 3 years). I distinctly heard “Forgive God” as a nudge. I refused to pray for her….but told her I could FIX her hands. She repeated “Father, I forgive you” and was totally healed inside of 10 seconds. A minute later, her husband (Arthritic back) prayed “I forgive myself…” and was totally healed.

Folks, I honestly have overlooked the power of forgiveness – especially of Self and of the Lord – until recently. Try it – let me know what you find.

CHECK OUT THE Bald Eagle video below .. .. ‘Challenger’ is his name (in honor of the lost space shuttle crew) & is cared for by the non-profit American Eagle Foundation (AEF).

He’s a ‘human-socialized’ bird accidentally raised by the people who rescued Him – after being blown from a wild Louisiana nest in a storm as a baby in the late 1980′s. Declared ‘non-releasable’ by federal and state wildlife Authorities, he was trained by the AEF to perform educational free-flight demonstrations at high profile public events.

He’s the first Bald Eagle in U.S. History that learned to free-fly into Stadiums, arenas and ballrooms during the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. The celebrity eagle has appeared at numerous major sporting events like the World Series, Pro-Bowl, All-Star game, BCS National Championship, Fiesta Bowl, Men’s Final Four, etc.

This eagle named Challenger has also flown before 4 U.S. Presidents!

Freedom in Christ

 
I’m currently facilitating the chapel services at St Luke’s School [http://stlukes-school.com] on Friday mornings. Each week, the Holy Spirit guides me to choose new keywords.

Friday Sept 9 was the second week of chapel. The keyword for the intermediate school students (grades 5-9) was FREEDOM, while for the preschool and elementary school students, the keyword was RAINBOW PROMISE.

What’s amazing is that when I went to the Walk United in Christ conference at Eastern View High School two days later (Sunday Sept 11), the Holy Spirit confirmed both keywords. When I stood up for the first time for a worship song, the word RAINBOW was sung in the lyrics within 7 seconds. Then when Colonel Light got up to speak, he said the keyword for his message was FREEDOM.

If that wasn’t enough, in the middle of Tom Blackaby’s message, I saw a vision of me talking to the students at St Luke’s School during chapel time and sharing Jeremiah 29:11. Less than a minute later Tom talked about Jeremiah 29:11.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

So what? Now what?

I keep hearing in my spirit that the keyword for all of us in this season of trial and tribulation is FREEDOM – FREEDOM in Christ. We are rapidly approaching a time of unprecented natural disasters that will wake up the body of Christ to the reality that Jesus and Jesus alone is our hope and our salvation. Those who know Him need to tell others about Him. Time is short. How prepared are you for what is coming and how are you helping others prepare?

As Isaiah told God, “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;” (Isaiah 6:5)

Breaking out of the debt trap

is something many people need help doing!

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Galations 1:3-5)

Did you catch that? Grace and peace to YOU, not from me but from GOD the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. These aren’t just words on your computer screen or phone. Rather they are a prayer of blessing.

The great Apostle Paul began many of his letters with a blessing of grace and peace. That set the tone for his readers and listeners to be ready to receive what else he wanted to share.

The same applies to you 2000 years later. This isn’t just another message. It’s a message from God’s heart, through my heart, to your heart. It’s a message of relief to those of you in DEBT, whether that be with MONEY or your TIME.

I’m quite familiar with DEBT, more familiar than I’d like to admit. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping you with breaking out of the debt trap. You may be in debt financially or you may be in debt with your Time. Either way you need help.

Breaking out of the debt trap!

 
For the first 20 years of my training and career, I was in debt with my TIME. While I typically only worked 45-50 hours/week as an anesthesiologist, my hours and work schedule were sporadic. I was called back to the hospital to care for patients many a day and night. There were numerous times in my life where I didn’t see the daylight outside for 12 days in a row because of my work and call schedule.

There were many nights where I would have only 2-4 hours of sleep before having to report back to the operating rooms to begin the cycle again. There were many weekends when I was called back to the hospital 3-5 times in a day, each time for hours on end.

In the summer of 1998, I read Stephen Covey’s book “First Things First” which talked about fitting in the important things in your life first. I realized that I didn’t even have time to read life-changing books like that.

And I decided I was going to have a change – that I was going to get out of the rat race and trade money for time. I made the decision I was breaking out of the debt trap – Time-wise.

After spending a year trying and failing to work out an arrangement with my anesthesia colleague to cut back to part-time (working 70%), I finally left Culpeper Hospital in July 1999. And when I did, it felt like I had been let out of jail after 20 years. All of a sudden I was freed of the beeper leash and my life was my life.

At the time, I felt quite secure financially with $1.4 million in my retirement account (IRA) and the stock market booming. Even in a bad year I would routinely make at least $150,000 with my investments. The only financial debt I had was $105,000 on my home mortgage and my home appraised for at least $300,000.

When the stock market crash of 2000 hit (with a 46% decline in the NASDAQ), by the grace of God all my money in my IRA was in cash (not stock), so I lost nothing.

What were some of the benefits of the TIME freedom I experienced? (i.e. of breaking out of the debt trap)

1) I joined my parents in Europe for a 3 week vacation in the Fall of 1999. This was something I had wanted to do for many years.

2) I began reading the Bible daily in 2000 for the first time ever in my life and committed my life to Jesus on January 6, 2001. Within a year or two, my wife and two kids were born-again. The priorities in my life changed dramatically.

3) I stumbled into the best anesthesia job of my career in the Fall of 2003, working just 2.5 days/week and earning what I did in my previous full-time job.

Over time with poor choices I made, our family’s negative cash flow, over-zealous giving to Kingdom opportunities, and the economic crisis that began in late 2007, my IRA was totally depleted and I began going into debt financially. Leaving my anesthesia job in Dec 2006 in obedience to the Holy Spirit to take a sabattical year didn’t help matters.

Fortunately, God is sovereign. It’s His plans that prevail. He’s the one who has the whole world in His hands, not me. In retrospect, I can see many reasons why the LORD had me step away from my best anesthesia job of my career to focus on His business.

So what? Now what?

Today was another historical day of taking a stand for the WFJ GLOBAL MOVEMENT. Team destiny hosted their final of three WFJ (Words From Jesus) webinars in December 2009 called “The Miracle of Christmas.”

Dr. Joseph Peck served as the global connector and host of this webinar. The guest panelists were: Deb Smith, Richard Mayhan, Bertha Hinson, and me, Abigail Slocum. Clearly the Holy Spirit took control of the webinar before it ever started and never let go!

He began by waking me up at 3:22 AM to give me this prophetic word – WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST! It was His way of orchestrating the whole focus for the discussion. These are the questions we covered:

WFJ: THE MIRACLE OF CHRISTMAS IS CHRIST!

Take the tour of the Word and be free in Christ. CHRISTMAS IS A SEASON FOR MIRACLES BUT EVERY DAY IS A MIRACLE IN CHRIST! TO BE IN CHRIST IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL.

SALVATION IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL. It is God’s free gift to all mankind. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall be saved (have eternal life).(John 3:16).

What is so miraculous is that SALVATION IS THE “GREAT EXCHANGE!” MAN GIVES GOD HIS IMPERFECT, BROKEN, SINFUL LIFE IN EXCHANGE FOR A PERFECT (COMPLETE) LIFE IN CHRIST. JESUS GIVES HIS ALL FOR OUR ALL!

When you receive Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, the LIGHT OF THE WORLD – THE CANDLE OF MAN, comes into your heart to show you the most excellent way of all to live. IT IS THE WAY OF LOVE BECAUSE GOD IS LOVE.

In this “GREAT EXCHANGE,” your old sinful man dies and the new man comes alive in Christ. CHRIST LIVES THROUGH YOU to live the perfect will of God which is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17).

Unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is your inheritance as a born again child of God. IT IS A LIFE OF VICTORY AND TOTAL PROVISION. To be one with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is to be free from every bondage of sin and to be free to experience the fullness and abundance of life in Christ Jesus. JESUS IS THE DOOR TO FREEDOM AND TOTAL FULFILLMENT.

Jesus’ arms are open wide and ALL THAT BELONGS TO THE FATHER OF LIGHTS IS YOURS WHEN YOU SAY “YES” TO JESUS who is the express image and likeness of God, and His Kingdom of Love becomes yours!

IT IS A SUPERNATURAL GIFT OF DIVINE INFUSION AND PROPORTION AND IS THE GREATEST MIRACLE OF ALL! Become one with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. ALLOW THE PRINCE OF PEACE TO RULE IN YOUR HEART FOREVERMORE, for God set eternity in the heart of man. He loves YOU so much and nothing will ever separate YOU from His love.

LET THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD LIGHT YOUR PATH AND BE A BEACON OF HOPE TO ALL MANKIND. THE KING OF GLORY HAS CHOSEN AND MADE A WAY TO TAKE UP RESIDENCE IN YOUR HEART AND BE YOUR KING AND PRINCE OF PEACE. SAY YES TO HIM AND THE KINGDOM IS YOURS!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL. The Redeemer wants to take all of you in your imperfection and transform you into the likeness of Christ. RECEIVE THE GREATEST GIFT KNOWN TO MANKIND AND LIVE “THE GREAT ADVENTURE” IN CHRIST. NOTHING CAN COMPARE TO THIS INDECSRIBABLE GIFT OF PURE AND PERFECT LOVE. It is greater than anything you ever wanted for Christmas for it is the desire of your heart. RECEIVE GOD’S GIFT AND SPEND THE REST OF YOUR NATURAL LIFE AND ETERNITY UNWRAPPING JESUS, GOD’S GIFT OF HIMSELF WHO IS PERFECT LOVE. THERE IS NO END TO LOVE. REJOICE AND BE AT PEACE. IMMANUEL HAS COME!

RECEIVE ALL OF THE GREATEST MIRACLE WHO EVER WAS OR IS TO COME! Let Christ have free reign in your heart and become His walking talking miracle and witness to all mankind. Your light has come. BE GLORIFIED IN HIS ETERNAL PRESENCE.

I LOVE YOU, MY CHILD. BE MADE WHOLE. ENTER THE JOY OF THE LORD. MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE PERFECT LOVER OF YOUR SOUL! BE SATISFIED IN ME. I AM YOUR FULFILLMENT AND HEART’S DESIRE. SHALOM.

God is on the move and doing amazing things in this earth! He continues to draw the body of Christ together in unity for His purposes. People may not be aware of all or see all that the Lord is doing but He truly is “CONNECTING THE DOTS”.

THE MOMENTUM OF THE WFJ GLOBAL MOVEMENT IS BUILDING UP SPEED. The dam is about to break free and there will be undeniable evidence of God’s hand moving on His People. THE YOUTH WILL PLAY A BIG PART IN THE AWAKENING THAT WILL COME FORTH!

Upon awakening this morning I received a WFJ (Word From Jesus). It was just in time and so appropriate for the second webinar of three taking place at 8AM today. Dr. Joseph Peck was hosting the Words From Jesus: How To Hear God’s Voice Webinar. Today’s topic was “The $14,400 Miracles!” The guest panelists were Doug Barclay, Bob Sims, and Bertha Hinson. During this life-changing, world changing webinar, they shared what Dr. Peck considered to be their BIGGEST GOD STORY FOR THE PAST SEVEN YEARS!

Without knowing what was going to be said today, this is what Jesus spoke to my heart. It’s so amazing how He is always right on time and right on target!

WFJ: SEEDTIME AND HARVEST

Now is the time of seedtime and harvest. I AM MOVING IN THIS EARTH IN UNUSUAL WAYS. I am the Lord of the Harvest. As long as the earth remains there is seedtime and harvest. I am planting My Word in the hearts of My people worldwide and they are speaking it out and it will bear much fruit. I DO NOT COMPROMISE MY WORD. It does not return void and it is accomplished.

MY WORD WILL BRING BILLIONS OF SOULS INTO MY KINGDOM. The Great Commission is going forth. I am also calling My people to sow financial seeds to bring in this end time harvest. SEEDS SOWN IN MY NAME FOR MY PURPOSES WILL REAP A GOD SIZED HARVEST. SPREAD MY WORD. SPREAD YOUR GIVING AND PARTAKE OF MY GLORY.

In October 2002, I first met Doug Barclay at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes retreat at The Cove in Asheville, NC. As a result of our discussion, Doug left his full-time job in sales to pursue full-time ministry work with Operation Mobilization.

Through a most peculiar series of circumstances, I was eventually prompted by the Holy Spirit to sow an UNCOMMON $14,4000 (12 x $1,200) seed into Doug’s life in February 2003, which was my largest financial gift up to that time. It so happened this was the exact amount (to the dollar) Doug needed to begin work with Operation Mobilization and he began his new job on 03-03-03. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Numbers are significant to God.

An UNCOMMON seed always yields an UNCOMMON harvest. An UNCOMMON seed is one inspired by Holy Spirit for a God-sized result.
