Being in Charge vs Being in Control

26 Nov

God controls the future, not us.

The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. (Proverbs 21:1)

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the hearts. (Proverbs 21:2)

As you go about your days, is the Word of God a lamp unto your feet?

Leaders can and should make their plans, but they must never forget that it is God who controls the future. Proverbs 21:1  reminds us that there is a difference between being in charge and being in control.

We kids ourselves if we think we are in control. We may have charge of a group, but the best we can do is remain under control. God is the ultimate Leader, and He is forever in control. It has been rightly said that “We don’t know what the future holds, but we do know the One who holds the future.”

Prayer Power
Father, thank You that through the storms of life, we can know that all things work for the good of those who love you and are called according to Your purposes (Romans 8:28). Thank You for the leaders You have placed in authority over us. Remind us to pray for them regularly and to show them proper respect. May we bless them with our thoughts, words, and actions. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
