Sunday Inspiration: A Time to Receive

09 Nov

Servant leaders often have difficultly receiving from others because they constantly give, give, give. Yet everyone needs to receive and it takes humility to do so.

Jesus said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

The more influential a leader become, the more important it becomes to stay humble and interdependent with others.

Proverbs 29:23 – A man’s pride will bring him low, But the humble in spirit will retain honor.

In the past few months, God has placed me in hyper growth mode in which I am receiving teaching and anointing from people I consider generals in His army.

In late August, the Lord blessed me to be able to launch The Dream Summit, a 30-60-100 Master’s Mind Marketing gathering bringing big dreams to life by collaborating with others. It’s about experiencing the power of a high-performance dream team and achieving massive personal and business growth. I started that to empower other people’s dreams little realizing the enormous impact that would have on me.

On Sept 3, I hosted Debbie Ellis on a private webinar releasing her signature message “The Life of an Overcomer.” That was the first official webinar for the Master’s Dream Academy. Within weeks of that webinar, God enabled me to overcome challenges in my business that I had had for years.

On Sept 17, I hosted Pastor Donald Lee on the third Master’s Dream Academy webinar releasing his signature message “Tongues: Power and Blessings.” The response was tremendous and as I began praying more in the Spirit, the fruitfulness of my work increased dramatically.

Three weeks later on Oct 8, the day of the second blood moon, I hosted Gary Beaton on a Master’s Dream Academy webinar titled “Soaring Into Your Destiny.” The response to that broke numerous all-time records for webinars I had hosted, even though I had been doing this for eight years.

This past week

  1. Vivienne Anderson launched her “Bringing Wholeness” online course on Tues Nov 4
  2. Donald Lee taught “Covenant Blessings” in Week 5 of his Tongues training
  3. Gary released another powerful message titled “Davidic Worship and Warfare” on Wed Nov 5, and
  4. Shaun Smit launched his “Inspired Leader Blueprint” course on Nov 6.

Because Vivienne, Donald, Gary, and Shaun are all members of The Dream Summit, I am helping each of them with their webinars and course launches. And as a result of the training and impartations by these leaders, I am seeing amazing things happen in my personal life and work.

Let me give one example. About a week and a half ago, my help was requested to plan and host a webinar by January to help more veterans in Virginia find employment. When Gary was speaking during the “Davidic Worship” webinar, he told the story of the Jimmy Doolittle Raid on April 18, 1942, which turned out to be one of the defining moments in World War II, turning the tide of war in the Asia Pacific. That grabbed my attention because my daughter’s birthday is April 18 and I experienced a significant miracle on that day in 2002.

On Friday Nov 7, I invested most of my work day editing and publishing the webinar replay for the Davidic Worship webinar. Afterwards, I went to bed at 10:30 pm. At 1:30 am, Maui, our dog, began whining by the front door, so I got up, let her outside, and then went back to bed. However, I did not fall back to sleep. As I was lying in bed, God was down pouring heaven’s strategies to exponentially grow my business and ministry. Eventually I got up at 2:30 am to write down what I was receiving in my journal.

During those wee hours of the morning on Sat Nov 8, Holy Spirit led me a serendipitous journey of research and discovery regarding veterans and World War II, including the Battle of Midway, the Battle of Iwo Jima, and the two atomic bombings in Japan. When that was over, Holy Spirit reminded me that two months earlier I had planned to drive with retired Major General Jerry Curry [http://americarestored.org/about/board/] to visit my parents on Nov 8. If I hadn’t woken up early, that opportunity would have slipped by.

Around 8:30 am, I called my parents and then General Curry. Fortunately, both were still available to meet even though I had not confirmed the meeting earlier. It was such an honor to have the one-on-one time with General Curry and then to introduce him to my father, who was about the same age and had a very accomplished career in the military.

In gratitude for the visit, General Curry gave me a copy “The General’s Lady“, a book written by his wife Charlene in 2006, a few years before her death. This morning I began reading that book. Wow! Her life as the military spouse of a rising Army officer and a mother of four active children has been an amazing example of the raw stamina, enormous flexibility, and incredible faith in God’s sovereignty, love, and power.

Never before in my life have I felt such a burning desire to bless veterans. On Tuesday Nov 11, we celebrate Veteran’s Day in America. Take a time out that day to thank those who have served and fought to protect our freedoms.

And remember, the greatest freedom any of us can have is freedom in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Blessings to be able to receive God’s best from others in addition to giving your best!
