A Good Name is Better Than Riches

Only things we do for Jesus will last for eternity!

A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold. (Proverbs 22:1)

Are you trusting in the LORD or in man?

What a difference 7 years make!!! In 1999 when I left Culpeper Hospital after pouring my heart into that place for 12 years, there was no going away celebration. In fact I actually felt rejected and disgraced. During my tenure there, I never gave God the credit for my success and not once did I pray with a patient.

In obedience to the Holy Spirit, I began working at Giles Memorial Hospital in September 2003 and stopped working there on December 21, 2006. On December 20, I was highly honored at the hospital and in Giles County after working there just three years. The positive impact I had on people in Giles was probably 100 to 1,000 times greater than at Culpeper Hospital and in only one quarter the amount of time.

What was the difference? Jesus!!! The God factor! The favor of God! I committed my life to Jesus on January 6, 2001 and have been living for Him since. Meditating on God’s Word, being coached by godly men, and obeying the Holy Spirit have allowed me to mature tremendously in godly wisdom and fear of the LORD. In Giles, I openly acknowledged Jesus in my workplace and prayed with patients, staff, and visitors.

Thank you to everyone in Giles who reached out to bless me, whether it was with an encouraging word, a kind deed, or a prayer! I bless you with joy and laughter and love that won’t let go!!!

Prayer Power
LORD, thank You for making me transparent to allow Your light and love shine through to bless many, many people in Giles County. Thank You for blessing me with a fabulous send off. Thank You that I have now entered a season of rest. You say “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.” (Proverbs 29:25). Jesus, may I always put my trust in You and You alone. Blessed be the LORD forever, You who give Your people rest. Sing to the LORD, you saints of His. Praise His holy name! Amen.
